Don’t Miss Out: California Higher Education Collaborative Conference Hosting EPIC Pre-Conference Workshop
Posted on September, 25th 2019
The 2019 California Higher Education Collaborative (CHEC) Conference is being held October 1-3, 2019 at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center. This conference, with a theme of New Opportunities – Common Challenges, convenes administrative leaders and professionals from the three segments of California public higher education to encourage the exchange of ideas and practices.
CHEC will host an EPIC Workshop on October 1, 2019. The EPIC Workshop is designed to introduce university and local government representatives to the adaptable and replicable campus-community partnership model that is now succeeding at more than 30 higher-education institutions across the country and internationally. The EPIC Model systematically matches real-world interests and needs with university capacity at a scale that can have lasting and sustainable impacts for all involved.
The workshop agenda includes:
- Introduction to the EPIC Model, calendar, logistics, and benefits including case studies from proven EPIC Partnerships.
- Panel discussion with university and city representatives that have implemented the model.
- Guidance on setting up a pilot year.
This workshop is intended for university representatives (faculty, administrators, sustainability professionals, service learning / community engagement professionals), local government representatives (local government managers, staff, and other representatives), nonprofit / philanthropic organizations that support municipal or community related projects or issues, and federal and state representatives that support community projects.
