In early 2021, the U.S. Department of Transportation launched the Complete Trip – ITS4US Deployment Program that aims to solve mobility challenges for all travelers—regardless of location, income, or disability—and provide access to jobs, education, healthcare, and other activities.

The program is a multimodal, multi-year effort led by the ITS JPO with support from the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration, and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to enable communities to showcase innovative business partnerships, technologies, and practices that promote independent mobility for all.

The webinar presents information on the ITS4US deployment known as the “Health Connector for the Most Vulnerable”—which is being led by the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency (HIRTA). The project will provide enhanced and equal access to healthcare options for all in Dallas County by integrating the scheduling and management of healthcare appointments and transportation, with a focus on underserved communities.
