National Network for the Transportation Workforce
The success of the United States to deliver and manage an efficient, safe, and effective transportation system is directly dependent on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the transportation workforce. The American transportation workforce is at a crossroads – within the next ten years half of the current workforce will be eligible to retire—while demands on the transportation system continue to grow.
Recognizing that it is only through productive partnerships and engaged communities of practice that we can develop the human resources needed to meet critical challenges, the Federal Highway Administration has established the National Network for the Transportation Workforce (NNTW). The West Region Transportation Workforce Center is one of five regional centers that make up the National Network for the Transportation Workforce. Each member works regionally, and collaborates together on the national level, to provide for a more strategic and efficient approach to transportation workforce development.
