Join Road Safety Champion Program trainings in November

Logo for Rural Road Safety CenterThe National Center for Rural Road Safety is excited to announce the latest version of the Road Safety Champion Program (RSCP)!  This national certificate program is designed to be a “Roadway Safety 101” course.  It is best for practitioners in transportation, public health, and law enforcement who do not have deep road safety knowledge. 

The Safety Center is offering a series of webinars/online training sessions, which cover its core modules of the RSCP. Each training is two hours long. 

The trainings will use Zoom.  Please ensure Zoom is on your “safe” email list before registering to ensure you receive the link to attend. 

RSCP Core Module #6: Reading the Roadway
Date: Thursday, November 10, 2022 
Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm ET

This two-hour training will teach participants how to “read the road” as well as the importance of doing so in daily activities. It will use real world examples on different roadway components to demonstrate how participants may be able to uncover potential safety issues during their routine activities.

RSCP Core Module #7: Safety Analysis Process
Date: Thursday, November 17, 2022
Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm ET

This two-hour training will cover the safety analysis process and discuss how it can be applied using two different complementary analysis methods: the traditional site analysis and the systemic analysis. Additionally, case studies will be utilized to demonstrate practical applications on the process.
