Abstract:
The Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks Technical Assistance Center conducted a case study of the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge’s tram service. The tram service is provided to the public through a partnership between the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Valley Nature Center, and the Friends of Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge. The operation of the tram service is defined through a memorandum of understanding between the partners, and a pool of volunteers is trained and used to provide the service. This case study identifies lessons learned and successful strategies used to provide tram services to the public.
