Abstract:
This document provides a reference of current terminology that transportation professionals can use to communicate and promote best practices for senior mobility. It is important to convey a consistent message within and among all groups invested in creating safe mobility options for seniors. The document will help those who encounter older adults with limited mobility, and will assist with communicating potential solutions to preserve and extend safe, independent transportation options for older persons. This document is divided into four parts: an index, a taxonomy and definitions of terms used by stakeholders in senior mobility, a list of abbreviations and symbols, and a list of references.
