Abstract:
Taxis have been used as a cost effective way to provide trips to people with disabilities and seniors for years. This report explores how agencies are using taxis and the benefits and challenges that relate to using taxis to provide transportation services to people with disabilities and seniors. Transit agencies that have used taxis were surveyed and provided “lessons learned” that provide an insight into using taxis as a resource.
